The Mr. Nile Experiment
22: Turn On (Tune In)
<< >>
Rigging animation into the temporal map of a comic was one thing.
\
But finding a way to do the same with sound presented a rather different set of challenges.
\
Non-visual time-based media and non-acoustic spatial-based media just weren't made to mix easily.
\

However, I think the process I've come up with should work for our purposes.
\

The sample I intend to use will be a piece of lightly manipulated orchestral sound.
\
A simple loop. Something that won't stress the temporal map too much.
\

  We're going to be
channelling it through this.
/
It'll just be avatar, really. Something to give the sound a point of origin within the narrative.
/

Right. I think we're all set here.
/
I'm going to need just a little help on your end to synch things up.
/
Ready?
/

  Okay. Click on the
radio and we'll begin.
/

It's... it's spreading both forward and backwards along the temporal map.
/

  Nothing is actually changing. But...
/

  I...
///

  ...wow.
